Fig Bars Smorgasbord


These two different bars, while bothImage are great, one is a cake bar and one is chewy with oats.  Yummy for my tummy, as my baby brother, just turned 50, always said while growing up.  Oh wait, he hasn’t grown up, yet, perhaps he still says it, I’ll have to notice next time I’m around him.  LOL

The cake bar is titled Bible Bar on and the oats bar I made up all by myself.  Both turned out great.

The one with oats:

No measurments, I just dumped so you can do it, too, and you can’t go wrong.  In a 13×9 baking dish spray cooking oil of your choice,  in a separate bowl mix together some oats, probably about 2-3 cups, about 3-4 T brown sugar and a T cinnamon, place enough oats mixture to cover even the entire bottom of dish, melt 2 T butter or margarine and pour over oats in dish and press down well, add 2 cups cut up Figs evenly over oats, cover with Sweetened Condensed Milk (1 can), then cover with again enough oats mixture evenly.   Bake at 375 for about 40-4 minutes.  Let cool completely, then cut and enjoy.  Remember, with the leftovers, be sure to store in fridge since it has milk.  Enjoy.
