I’m Not Sandra Lee but I can do Semi-Homemade, too!

Standard

While I don’t do a lot of the decorating and over the top with the Semi Homemade the way Sandra Lee from Foodnetwork does, but I do like to draw from lots of ideas I see on many of these programs.

Today, while shopping for a few groceries I watched as the fresh, hot Gumbo was transferred from the cooking pot to the serving bowl.  Oh my, it was calling my name the second I saw it being poured.  Great color, veggies and loaded with a variety of seafood and some sausage.  I decided to get a Large, I’d say 16 oz., right thereabout, to take home.  When Jonathan gets home from school he’s usually pretty hungry, so I put a pot of brown rice on to cook, then placed the gumbo in my middle serving bowl of my favorite set, and when the rice was ready I combined it.  Yes, it was a hit!  The minute he got home up came that aluminum foil and out came a bowl and spoon.  As they say on the commercial ~ VICTORY!!!

So here’s my Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade dish.

See my pretty golden color bowl?  I love it, oh yeah, a Walmart special from a few years ago.  Large one is a butterscotch color and small one is an avocado color, with inside of each of them a light creamy color.  I use them a lot.

About gingy55

The Lord has blessed me in so many ways; family, friends, and those who may one day be friends. Being blessed with a rich heritage of cooks, I decided to share some of my life with those who are interested. I pray that you're going to be able to add to your repertoire of meals either by using my recipes or customizing them for you, your family and friends. BTW Gingy is the name my brother and sister called me when we were little as they couldn't say Jennie.
